What is TEAM for?
TEAM is not used
to decide whether or not to
accept you at the University.
That decision is based on the
score you presented on IELTS,
TOEFL or an equivalent.
TEAM diagnoses whether you may benefit
from ELTT English courses or
materials, which are offered
free of charge to non-native
speakers on postgraduate programmes
at Edinburgh.
Do I have to take
TEAM?
If the English test score you
presented when you applied to
your College office was below
7.0 IELTS (below 100
iBT-TOEFL), you must take TEAM
to see whether you qualify for
ELTT support.
What sort of a test
is it?
TEAM tests listening comprehension
and knowledge of grammar and
vocabulary. It takes about
40 minutes.
When do I take it?
You do not need to register.
Just come on the day when you
wish to take the test. Bring
a copy of your IELTS or TOEFL
result. Please arrive 10 minutes
before the starting time. If
a session is full, you will
be asked to come back for a
later one.
Open
test sessions are held mainly
in the James Clerk Maxwell Building
(on the King's Building campus)
and in the Teviot Medical School
(central area). The times below
are provisional.

TEAM sessions are included in
some Master's programmes as
part of their Induction Week,
12-16 September. Ask your Programme
Director when you arrive in
Edinburgh.
The
TEAM session for Semester
2 takes place at 2pm
on Wednesday 18 January
2012 at ELTC, 21 Hill
Place.
How do I get my TEAM
result?
Your result is sent by email
to your University of Edinburgh
email address, normally within
a week. It will also be sent
to your programme director or
supervisor, and to your College
office.
How is my TEAM score
used?
The University considers specific
ELTT courses to be Essential
or Strongly Recommended
for students with low
test scores. You will receive
individual advice and instructions
in your TEAM results message.
